No one could have predicted the flooding. Just like no one could have predicted the “devastation” of a hurricane – during hurricane season. Yeah, right. If we built back better, starting 100 years ago, we would breeze right through any flooding or hurricanes; that, we see EVERY YEAR. Actually, we probably would not have even seen any damage from flooding, in 2021.
We have seen some improvement in infrastructure, from recognizing what failed, after hurricanes; however, not nearly enough. Will the landscaping and other infrastructure be improved, after reviewing this last flooding episode? I don’t think so. It is called: repeat, repeat, repeat.
The moral of the story here? Let’s truly start building back better, after any natural disaster. It would be even better to proactively build and fabricate, with natural disasters in mind. It would benefit our friends in nature, as well. Animals unfortunate enough to be in the path of destruction, from human’s lack of foresight (“the ability to predict or the action of predicting what will happen or be needed in the future“).

Anyway – food for thought, and action.
